70 million people speak Italian as a first language. It is the official language of Italy and parts of Switzerland and an official language of the European Union.
With Italy being worth more than 拢8 billion to the UK economy, Italian appears to have a high profile in labour market research, making it the fourth most frequently requested language in job advertisements for languages.

In this intermediate module, you’ll explore and produce written and oral texts from a range of genres and registers.
You’ll gain regular practice in free and guided writing in Italian, and in presenting and discussing in the foreign language. You’ll also analyse grammatical and syntactical features in Italian.
This advanced module develops your Italian through guided and free writing, structured grammar practice, and discussions of contemporary topics using Italian鈥憀anguage materials.
You’ll build confidence and fluency by working across a range of genres and registers in both spoken and written Italian.
This advanced module deepens your Italian through more complex writing tasks, detailed grammatical and syntactical analysis, and extended work with authentic texts from diverse genres.

Our most advanced module develops near鈥憂ative proficiency through sophisticated writing, academic discussion, and the study of Italian鈥憀anguage texts.
